D-Day: American Cemetry

Today we went to the D-day beaches in Normandy. It was very impressive to see especially this Amercian Cemetry you can see here. Everything is perfectly lined up and it's huge. Very impressive.

We furthermore went to some beaches where they landed during D-day and pont du hoc. This is a clifftop location 30 meter above the sea. On D-day over 200 soldiers tried to climb this with ladders while being shot by the Germans. 90 of them were still alive after 2 days. It's quite impressive and interesting to see what is still visible from that time: the fortification and craters.
