Breakfast With A View

We got up very early, brewed some tea and left our makeshift campside after cleaning it up very carefully. We hiked through the vast and rich meadows, curiously watched by the black- and- white cows common in North Germany. No farmer's were around yet, but we saw the day's first Moor Express from a distance. A narrow escape... ;-)

We walked into the village of Osterholz- Scharmbeck and found a bench at the harbour. We sat down and had breakfast (yesterday's cheese sandwiches). Then we cut across country again, this time into an even more remote territory than yesterday. No cows, but deer, small birds of all kinds and even a few White Storks. And wildflowers, many of them very rare. We were careful not to step on them.

The moorland's ground is very soft, and although I'm a trained hiker, I can feel my muscles as I write this.
