An Lochan Uaine, Ryvoan Pass, Cairngorms

- Backblip -

Costa del Cairngorm, the lochside road jam packed with visitors making the most of the good weather. 26C. The suncream was on, as were the shorts, sunhat, polariser and walking boots. Off for a walk along the Ryvoan Pass from Loch Morlich up to the Bothy.

The path is much improved now, and is a cycle track part of the way. More trees have been planted too. The Green Lochan was always a favourite stopping point, and I admit to being influenced by a certain Blipper from Inveraray when taking this one.

We later drove up to the ski carpark on Cairngorm, taking in the changes made by the funicular railway. It's just not the same place anymore, rather a blot on the landscape. However the view back down the mountain and across the Spey Valley was stunning.
