Matanuska Dawn

I've been enjoying my blip optional days lately. There was a real rich sunrise when I was dropping off Calico at high school this morning. The vantage point sucked though. I drove to Palmer off the Matanuska River. The splendor of the clouds and sunrise diminished by then, but the scene came together with the help of some willing ravens.

There's now nearly 17 hours of daylight (counting civil twilight). So even with brisk temperatures and some lingering snow and ice, we're getting the Spring itch in Alaska.

I set up a trip to ski at Alyeska Resort for the day tomorrow with a friend. The group has swelled in number by an additional 4 teenage girls. It should be a fun day.

Have a good weekend.
