One legged Birds

Why do Canadian Geese stand on one leg? Well I googled it after watching these birds along the River Thames this morning. Apparently its to regulate their body temperatures. When they sleep they lift one leg up under their feathers to reduce heat loss. This reminds me of how much I enjoy sleeping under my goose down!
