"Engulfed"

Visited the Church of St Mary the Virgin on the outskirts
of the village of Ebberston, just outside Pickering.
Built in the 11th Century. Although the interior was
interesting, it was not until I was leaving did i see this.

A fully grown Yew tree, that had grown up
amongst the graves, of which this one, had been engulfed
by the trunk and had stayed perfectly in place as the
tree grew around it. The date on the stone was 1825.
I wonder how long this had taken to happen!!
