Hidden gem of NW England

Heading South on sunday we simply drove straight to Chester.
Coming home today though I noted that the usual route North up the M6 would take us very close to Lakeland. I had heard much of this place and decided we should make a minor detour to see if it was as good as people said.

I certainly wasnt disapointed and shall certainly revisit Lakeland again at my earliest convenience.
