Framing the Fort

By TheHairyCoo

What made you think there was a ferry?

"For the last time, there is NO FERRY!"

My favourite sign post. Ever.

Made famous by Iain Bank's novel, Complicity, this signpost carries the air of weary exasperation. You just know there was a planning meeting where someone said:

"Ach, sod it Angus, why don't we just put it on the blessed signpost? It'd save us having to tell people every blessed day".

And my favourite signpost was born.

(if you fancy a bit of skulduggery with a liberal ethos & don't mind a bit of swearing or decidedly "adult" themes, Complicity is a cracking book. Although it's not for the weans*, it still has elements of thrillers like The 39 Steps. Well worth a look)

*weans: children; the west coast's equivalent of the east's "bairns"
