...were gathered in the tree above me

...waiting

...calling to each other

...then began to leave

...one after the other

...in rapid succession - to some unknown destination

to a degree, it was rather creepy... even though it was light out. fortunately they didn't swoop down and attack me - although i was ready to make a quick escape.
