Cosy pub

Day off work today and I went into Newcastle for some My Birthday Eve pottering... nice cheap Thai Food (with amazing twirling condiment set of crushed red chillis, green chillis in sauce and crushed peanuts...), buying some lovely books and having a pint of beer in this pub, The Town Wall, near the station.

A huge, cavernous Grade II listed pub, The Town Wall used to be the home and workplace of the engraver Thomas Bewick, and has been around in some form or another since at least the 13th century. It's an impractically massive place, with exposed brick walls, dark blue paint, white metro tiles, mock bookcase wallpaper, old library chairs.... you name it!
