WHW Day 3 - Loch Lomond

Loch Lomond features so heavily on the way that it gets another entry.

The weather was glorious today, which was more than can be said for the walking.

We walked from Rowardennan to Inveranan (the longest 13.25 of our lives I think) and we (I) made a bit pf a tactical mistake at the start. There is a choice of paths just north of Rowardennan - you can walk next to the Loch (very hard, scrambling, up and down, narrow path, rocks and roots) or on a forest track. Guess which one we chose? Yep - that's right and we had to abort about an hour in and climb up the very very steep banks (not at all bonny) of Loch Lomond to get to the other track.

My knees were absolutely shagged. We felt more dead than these trees.

Mrs42 was not remotely amused.

Dinner in the Drovers Inn made some of this a bit better.

First of four nights at Strathfillan House with Jim and Diane ferrying us to and from the start/end points - thanks guys.
