Encountering mis-spelled signage is a frequent enough event though the larger and shinier the sign the more distressing it is as the mistake must have passed more people either without being noticed or being noticed yet ignored. There is arguably little or no impact when all the sign does is advertise a garage or an hairdressing-salon but when it's telling children that a very small measurement is know as the "plank" length then there's something seriously wrong with the fabric of the universe. It didn't even give it as 1.6*10^-35m, positioning it instead as just very slightly to the left of the Ångström, at 100pm a considerably vaster distance than the Planck length. If we'd got round to visiting Dynamic Earth shortly after it opened as we meant to then it might have been corrected by now; as it is it's been misinforming people for eight years and we're eight years further from the age of the target audience though anyone over eight must find it incredibly patronising. Two of the staff chose to jump out from behind pillars and bellow right in my ear, too (though luckily not the ear which has been worryingly muffled about the higher frequencies since I woke up on Saturday morning). At least we were spared the embarrassment of having to pretend that a lift was a time machine as it was broken so we got to use the Stairs of Time instead and then we had a coffee and I took a picture of a man frowning at a laptop and ate a muffin and went for a walk then went home.
