Rosebay Cottage

This derelict cottage sits beside a minor road atop a ridge between Midmar and Linton, with an excellent view over the village of Sauchen to the Mither Tap of Bennachie on the northern horizon.

A drift of Rosebay Willowherb fills what was once the front garden, bringing a late-summer splash of vibrant colour to this sad scene.

It amazes us why such a characterful and masterfully situated cottage has remained empty and in a ruinous state for so long.
