Some steam

Today we did a hike that was in the books standing for 25 km.
At the end we saw on the GPS that we walked 30 kilometers!
We never did that before... We made one fault and missed one bridge we had to pass so we had to walk back for at least 800 meters.

Now we feel that we never did such a long hike before...

We did the hike to check wether the track was allright and to make an inventory of benches, kind of footpaths and so on.
This hike was partly along the Star musueumrailway .
In Veendam we saw a terrace at Italian restaurant "La Fontana" and we hopped in to check if we could get some coffee.
The restaurant was still closed but the very kind owner offered us coffee when he heard we walked already 17 kilometers. He di'dn't want to accept any payment for it!
He invited us to take a look at his enclosed other terrace at the back and we were impressed how nice it looked. Where does one find such nice people... they still exist.

At Veendam we had the opportunity to see this steamloc pass by.
