A day at the museum

It's Thursday and my summer holiday day off so of course it is raining...never mind still plenty to do even if the weather isn't playing.

We walked into town, caught the train and headed for Edinburgh and the recently re-furbished Museum of Scotland. We headed off a bit later after a hearty breakfast and thought that would last us through to dinner time...but it didn't today so ended up buying lunch at the museum...don't do it...it's expensive!

Obviously because of the rainy day and the museum being fully open again everybody had had the same idea...as this blip shows!

The last time we visited the National Museum we were restricted to the Science & Technology zone and the Museum of Scotland...today it was an effort to persuade the army to explore further but explore further we did. Best bit of the day was when the wee fella discovered the dinosaur skeleton...he's big into dinosaurs just now and was so excited.

When we were thrown out at 5 o' clock the sun was shining so we wandered down the High Street and enjoyed some of the pre-festival acts on show, then we rested our weary feet in Princes Street Gardens.

Eventually headed home on the 20hr30 train after dinner in Pizza Hut...the kids enjoyed it...what more can I say.
