The ladies on The Ladies Rock

Here are the girls sitting on the Ladies Rock near Stirling Castle. It was a lovely morning and we had a walk round taking photos and enjoying the spectacular views. We are so lucky to live in the heart of Scotland with so many lovely places to enjoy...when it is not raining!!

The Ladies Rock This rocky spot is said to derive its name from its proximity to the original 'Valley', a hollow (now part of the graveyard) reputed to have been used for tournaments and sporting events throughout the reigns of the Stuart monarchs. Ladies of the Royal Court in Stirling Castle used this convenient observatory from where they could safely watch the sporting spectaculars
