tempus fugit

Harper* in the High Street

A fine morning in Cardigan where this young woman was busking with a harp - not a Welsh harp, which is a large instrument with pedals, played sitting down, but the smaller, more portable Irish harp.

( Harps date back to prehistory and are not confined to Celtic countries. )

To hear what it sounded like here's another Irish harper playing in the streets of Dublin.

*It's harpist for classical, harper for folk music - and for the Beckhams' daughter of course!
