Inside the Erie Canal

These are locks from the Erie Canal in Cohoes, NY. The canal was here many years ago but move not but a mile or so, as the crow flies. Infact, they were moved so long ago that a lot of the people I talked to about them did not even know what they were.

Urban Amnesia is what it is called, I think. We all have it. What old secrets does your city have that you don't know about. Your Chamber of Commerce should know. Sometimes it takes the tourist to bring these secrets out of the shadows.
