One daze at a time...

The short straw

Arnbjørn wet himself laughing on the night of the draw, when he discovered on the tiny unfolded piece of paper what his fundraising challenge would be.
He had got off lightly.
He cheered with the others when Bjarnhard picked the Saharan long distance running challenge.
His wolf whistle was the loudest when Ingebjørg found out that she was to go on a three week holiday, all expenses paid. To Luxemburg. With 32 accountants.

He had got off lightly. Imagine that... A two week Cycle-Around-Ireland fundraising challenge. In August!

He'd get fit, work on his tan, enjoy the enchanting scenery, bathe in crystal clear streams, to cool down after a daily leisurely 40 mile ride on deserted country roads.

Arnbjørn was a lucky guy and he knew it. The others in the office were green with envy already. Especially Maureen Connolly, the Irish work experience girl from HR. This strange smirk of hers could barely disguise how hurt she was at having missed the top prize.
