Louts' Litter

The open space in the snap is only partially cared for, 'they' cut the grass. Beyond it being a convenient dog toilet, no locals seem to have an interest in the area.

Were it not for the fence and brambles etc the litter would continue its journey to somewhere else.

Maybe that would be best, just keep it moving.

Not dwell too long.

So I got to thinking............

It seems like no one cares. If you invest nothing you don't have a material or emotional attachment to it. Surely, if you do have an emotional or material investment, you tend to care and take care?

(witness these 'In Bloom' groups who aren't paid to care)

Where does that cycle begin though? Can it be instilled or enforced?

How much effort, for instance, goes into raising a child that, at 12, becomes a looter? How much effort went into the parent that defends that same child by shouting obscenities at the press?

Mmmm? Best not to think too much, as someone said on the radio this morning "it's only a blip in the overall trend"!
