Stepping out

A few weeks ago, my ankle twisted while I was coming downstairs. It was more extreme than expected and turned out to be a navicular fracture (something I didn't know existed until I saw the x-rays).

After a day at my laptop, a walk down to the river is a welcome break. It's even more special to be able to do it at a reasonable pace without a hop-along limp. Today was about appreciating the almost-healed status of my ankle.

This view across the field is one of my favourite bits of the walk.
