Sgwarnog: In the Field

Pangbourne Swan

We spent the afternoon at the side of the Thames in Pangbourne. Last year we saw Kingfishers in this spot, but today only a Grey Heron, Grebe with brood, Cormorants, and the usual smattering of Mallard, Canada Geese and this solitary Mute Swan, in amongst the barges and motor cruisers.

The Swan won out, mainly because it swam close, but also because of the reflected neck which reminds me of a famous picture of the Loch Ness Monster.
