Spring flower in August

We went to Mt Rainier today to meet my Colorado brother Randy, who has been working in Hood River Oregon. We were all blown away by the profusion of spring flowers on August 12th - so much snow this winter, such cool temperatures this summer that there is still tons of snow on all the trails in the Paradise area and Sun Rise too. But lots of folks out hiking in snow in all kinds of most inappropriate foot gear, sliding down on ravines on their jeans and jackets and having a jolly good time.
