Pic de l'Aigle

Sounds better than Eagle Peak doesn't it?!

From this 993 metre highpoint you can see across the Jura, south to the Alps and sometimes catch a glimpse of Mont Blanc.

Apparently a winged, white horse travels the sky around these parts, mounted by a king holding a sword raised. There was no sighting of this aerial spirit but we did see some mushrooms, a few wasps and these fantastic lakes.

We didn't quite make it to the Panorama de quatre lac but had to make do with the Panorama de trois lacs, from which point this picture was taken. Okay, I'm not sure where Lac #3 is either..

I think these are Narlay and Ilay but I could be wrong. Their lovely colour must be related to dissolved minerals.

Anyway, a bit of a trek this morning. Son #2 completed it on my shoulders, on account of the fact that he had Cuddles with him too and they couldn't possibly both walk. Son #1 insists on wearing a rucksack and my sunglasses now and stopping at regular intervals to take photographs.

It's now raining but it's a welcome kind of rain. We might go and swim in the lake - what have we got to lose?

The boys want a cup of Orangina - time to go!

Definitely better bigger!
