Without Malice

By aforethought

Where's Maisie?

Our Maisie is undergoing training. She's very bright. Compared to our greyhounds, she is a genius. Actually, compared to the hounds a cucumber is a genius - but I digress.

She is bright. Too bright.

Her puppy playfulness includes a game with the other dogs which more or less involves jumping on their heads and biting their faces. All in a loving way of course. Just the way puppies do. But the hounds are not so appreciative of the lessons Maisie learns in these games, so we needed to help.

Now we have successfully trained Maisie, with the aid of small treats, to stop attacking the others and sit patiently at our feet instead. She does this to a single spoken command. Result.

And yet, somehow Maisie has trained us! Now when she wants a treat, she jumps on Pi (not pictured) waits for our intervention, and then sits dutifully, and pointedly, by the cupboard which contains the treats. Hmm.

Something has gone wrong!
