The Magic Forest

Woke up to a steady drizzle that hung around for most of the day. In the morning we took the girls for a walk behind our friends' cottage. The forest was so lush and green. It reminded me of the miniature fairy worlds I'd imagine when I was a young girl. After a short hike, we came to a wall with an opening which opened up to the most magnificent gardens. In the middle of the forest! It was so unexpected.

Later, we visited Thunder Hole, which gave quite a show with the stormy seas. There, we saw a bald eagle fly over us -- very exciting to see one in the wild.

We also drove to the top of Cadillac Mountain knowing we wouldn't see much, but we could at least say we did it. Wonderful dinner at Burning Tree restaurant in Bar Harbor.
