Mrs Talpa and I have very different opinions on the true nature of Thomas, our cat. She reckons that he is a common street moggie, whereas I am convinced that he is of noble birth, a Norwegian Forest Cat.

Here is the final proof that I am right; for sleeping he much prefers a spare log roll in the cold garage to the expensive, luxurious basket that is provided for him in the warm kitchen.
