The Cocktail Masterclass

For Pauline's birthday we decided to go to a Cocktail Masterclass.

We thought it would be all about making your own cocktails at the class and Heather summed it up perfectly "a bit like home economics except we get pissed"

Along we trotted to the The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in Queen Street, the venue alone should have made us realise this was not going to be a getting whammed and falling about sort of 2 hours..

The set up became clear when we got to the room, we sat and watched while the bartender of the year 2007, Callum someone, talked us through the 6 cocktails, gave us a wee bit history to them and their receipes and we were served the 6 cocktails throughout the masterclass.

All in all it was more reserved than we imagined and we were slightly dissapointed that we didn't get to make our own in the home economics set up! But I understand that it would be chaos trying to control 40+ people in cocktail making and there would be carnage.

Obviously to get our £30 worth of booze we drank all 6 cocktails and yes we did achieve getting whammed by the end of the night as we weaved our way along to the Voodoo Rooms..
