More Barbados Railway Trackbed

Barbados Railway revenue in 1927-28 was £12k with expenditure of £13k, but by 1935 revenue had fallen to £1.6k and cost £7k to run - killed by road competition.

Here is the track-bed looking from Bathsheba back to Tent Bay on the Atlantic Coast of Barbados.

Wouldn't it be wonderful to see a Baldwin running round the corner?

As Jim Horsford says in his admirable monograph, "The Barbados Railway therefore deserves to be remembered - preferably, however, in the warmer hues of nostalgia rather than in the cooler light of economics".
