The Waverley Paddlesteamer

Hubby and I have taken a couple of days off and are enjoying the beauty of our area.

Today we went aboard the Paddlesteamer, Waverley which sails these waters during June, July and August. It was a fantastic experience although the visibility wasn't wonderful we did manage to get some great photos.

We sailed around Ailsa Craig, which we've been promising ourselves that we'll do for three years now! It was great to see the bird colony (RSPB reserve with literally tens of thousands of birds) and to see the island itself up close.

The photo above shows the Waverley coming into Girvan harbour with the Isle of Arran behind (another place we've been promising ourselves that we'll visit!!).
