Scans, babies and flowers

It's been a week of scanning; one at the ante natal clinic (4 hours wait with a full bladder) and one privately today for a test that couldn't be done in the hospital. The difference in care is stark, and slightly depressing. I'm a supporter of the NHS but 4 hours with a litre of water inside you is nobody's idea of fun.

Today we saw all sorts of structures in the baby, even though it's only 13 weeks old. Or actually 11 weeks, but I'm 13 weeks pregnant.

Amazing stuff. Flowers and babies; how do they grow all these intricate bits?
