A sense of perspective...

A family day out with the grandparents at Loch Coriusk, Skye. The middle portion of an absolutely fantastic day.

Lying at the foot of the Black Cuillin mountains, the loch is accessible only by boat, or by arduous trek which includes the terrifyingly understated "bad step" where one inches across a nearly-sheer outcrop of basalt rock, with a drop into the water awaiting anyone who slips.

It's a truly wild landscape, and awe-inspiring to say the least. I'm so lucky to have had Skye as a part of my life from birth. And I'm delighted my kids will be able to say the same.
