Watching all the ferries and yachts sail in and out of Portsmouth's very busy harbour was fascinating, distracting me from the meal I was supposed to be eating.

Even the man sat on the table behind who was having a loud and animated conversation with the three imaginary friends at his table couldn't drag my attention away from the sea.

Then I spotted this vessel, the first submarine I have ever seen (that wasn't on TV).

The US submarine is thought to be the US Newport News.
