Covered in Bees

Free!!!

(Appropriate for Friday...)

From the desperate imprisonment of the wooden bars that caged the juicy fruit for too long, together the 7 desperado's hatched a plan to escape. The ropey old soldier, 'Ivy' had other ideas though and thought to thwart the plot. As the fruity fellows eased their way Westward at a barely perceptible pace, Ivy's tendrils moved in like a silent snake upon it's prey, curling round the thorny twig with a strength that belied it's fragile appearance.

When all hope looked lost, who should appear through the undergrowth but Snuffly the Hedgehog! Apparently on an escape mission of his own, from a maniac with bits of brown conifer and holly in hair muttering something about flippin' blippin'!

Snuffly crashed through the debris of foliage and through old Ivy like he was autumn leaves. Ivy snapped and the 7 berries were suddenly again close to their goal of fruity freedom!

But the price of freedom is sometimes a price so high; weighed down by the tendrils of old Ivy, as Snuffly broke the cord the berries whipped away like elastic and it was only as they came to settle that they saw that one of their number was still flying through the air, freedom granted to him in a most unexpected manner... As their sweet sidekick arched through the air the 6 looked on in shock, awe, but also maybe in envy that their companion was more free than they were, still tied to their woody chain (and to each other... you've never *heard* snoring till you've heard an old blackberry snore...)

I'm going to run out of things to blip in my garden soon! I just haven't had a chance to get out much lately... Can you tell?
