A long way from home

Every home needs a spirit figure to watch over it. This is ours; he isn't, of course Scottish, but from the New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) in the South Pacific. Once upon a time we worked in the Fijis and were lucky enough to be there when the first Pacific Arts Festival was held in 1972. We bought our spirit figure from the New Hebrides contingent to the festival.
Normally he lives in the house but he is currently getting his summer airing in the garden.
