At 2330hrs on the 8th August 2011, London Fire Brigade received multiple calls to a warehouse fire in Enfield. Initial reports from a witness suggested that a group of around 20 "looters" were seen running from the scene, shortly afterwards a well developed fire took hold, which destroyed most of the building.

Comment

Whilst I was in the Enfield area today, I was lucky enough to find a spot in which to fire off a few shots. My attention was drawn to this girder, which despite the fire & initial efforts of demolition crews, has remained in place. The comparrison to the people of the London boroughs, where criminals tried to loot & destroy their communities was obvious. Battered & scarred, both the steelwork & the communities have refused to bow to the will of those who would seek to destroy them.
