The colosseum

As our campsite was approximately 120 km from Rome, we took a train from Orvieto and had a crash visit to Rome. Bert and I have been to Rome many years ago, but the girls had only ever read about Rome, the Romans, Ceasar, etc.

They were absolutely fabulous walking around Rome. Besides the Colosseum, we saw the Forum, the mausoleum for the King, the Pantheon, the Trevi fountains and the Spanish steps... then we had to run to catch the train back!
