Two Thousand Photos

Aeroparque (AEP)

I took this photo this afternoon, during take of from Buenos Aires smaller airport, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery , en route to the town of Iguazu where the famous waterfalls lie.

Little did I know that this wouldn't be my only take off from Aeroparque today.

20 minutes before we were due to land in Iguazu, the Captain told us the weather had deteriorated on the ground, and that we'd need to hold.

And so the circling around in grey cloud began...

50 minutes later, and the weather had deteriorated further still, so we turned left and headed back to Buenos Aires (1 hour and 40 minutes away!)

Off loaded from the plane, we were taken to the terminal, and an hour later bussed back to the same plane, cleaned, refuelled and restocked. And with a shiny new, enthusiastic crew.

Took off again, this time in the sunshine (those photos don't reflect my mood by that point!) and landed in Iguazu in heavy rain, and precious little visibility - the runway just appeared from nowhere, and we were finally at our destination!

[Woke up in Santiago de Chile, breakfast somewhere over the Andes, lunch in Buenos Aires, various snacks over the Argentinian countryside, dinner in Iguazu...]

Good night! :)
