Penniless Porch

To get from Wells Market Place to the Cathedral entrance, you have to pass through Penniless Porch. If you stop and look up, this is what you see. I would have liked to get the whole thing in view, but I couldn't fit it all in (despite crouching right down on the ground and looking a bit of a muppet).

Built by Bishop Bekynton in about 1450, it's where beggars used to ask for alms. Having been window shopping today, I was tempted to stop and ask for a few myself!
