As the Edinburgh Festival careers along in week 3, my sunflower has finally come to life and is currently taller than me. I have surprised even myself as usually I buy plants then watch them die.

News from the set of World War Z, currently filming in Glasgow. Former Celtic player Bobby Petta has been cast as an extra and during filming yesterday some fans were shouting his name in adoration, during which he waved in acknowledgment. The disturbance meant they had to stop filming and he was removed to another part of the set. Brad Pitt could not be contacted for comment.
