Back and Forth thru time

Them Bones

Evening all,

Well, i'm back into the blip routine, you know, see it ,snap it, post it, question it!!

Just thought i'd post this picture as a reminder of the other side of living in the countryside. I tend to post pictures of cute little furry things running around or lovely sunsets over corn fields or any of that over romanticised claptrap to emphasise living in a rural idyll.

The reverse of that is that its a bloody hard and slightly ruthless existence for the livestock as well as the farmers who tend for them.

At the moment in one of the fields through which we walk there are a good half a dozen carcasses in various stages of decomposition, mainly lambs and juveniles, and while its not altogether pleasant to see, it is a fact of life and one that shouldn't be ignored or avoided just because its disturbing or gruesome.

the other side of that three sided thing is that its actually a good example of how nature tidys up after itself, and how a dead animal can provide nutrition and sustenance for lots of different organisms, big and small, nothing goes to waste in that cliched circle of life, its all recycled in the end, and you just have to accept it and get on with it.

night all
