Schools out 13/17: Old and New

This is a visual gag pure and simple. But as my last Israel entry it is kind of appropriate. It is a country of ancient and ongoing construction, more than anywhere else I have been, so the idea of a minaret emerging from a concrete funnel is a genuine contrast.

Alternative interpretations are welcome ...

This was taken on the edge of the beautiful old port of Jaffa at the Southern end of Tel Aviv and a short walk from where we have been staying. Jaffa is delightful and we had a lovely last meal sitting on the harbour and watching the sun set.

So goodbye Israel and thank you - for everything, a truly different travel experience.
