Trickle and Thrum

funeral bell

another fungi photo I'm afraid. This time of what I think is Funeral Bell, a decidedly deadly mushroom, spotted on a rotting log in Parkhill Wood near Lochwinnoch.

Alan and I went there for another of our country walks, since it was a pleasant day. The day could have ended up less than pleasant however.

"Look at all the bees in this hole" Alan called to me, as he prodded about with a stick. "Oh, there's even more of them now."

OMG, thought I and quickly told him to step away and keep walking while I batted off the few (thankfully) bees keen to get under his clothes and take their revenge.

I pulled the last one off him ten minutes later. Idiot!
