vada abditae

Weather forecast for weekend was, in a word, WET. So we decided to go for a walk on Friday instead, up in the woods just north of Oslo.

This is the Sognsvann lake which we passed en route. It is very popular for swimming, jogging, dog-walking and general enjoyment of the summer.

When we stopped for lunch, we saw a grass-snake swimming across a small lake. At first I couldn't work out what could swim so fast with no splashing and very little above water, but when I went to investigate it was still on the bank enjoying the sunshine. Unfortunately I didn't get close enough for a decent blip.
