The Edinburgh Middle-classes at Play

A big book festival day! First up was Alan Little with Kamilla Shamsie and Declan Walsh, discussing the Arab Spring and the impact that it could have on Pakistan. Terrific stuff. That was followed by James Yorkston in conversation with Ian Rankin. High point was undoubtedly a couple of new songs that JY did. I don't rate his book at all, but it was a diverting enough hour. Later, much later, Mark Kermode was 'in conversation' with Hannah McGill. Except Hannah McGill looked bored, pissed, tired and generally absent from the conversation. Occasionally she was moved to give a huge toothy silent laugh. Which was probably a yawn.
Right, that's enough of the serious stuff. It's Sunday morning and we all know what that means. Correct! Worship! Bring on the Hi-Bees!
