Sheffield Fayre

Today was the first day of Sheffield Fayre. A fantastic free event which takes place at the end of August every year.
The highlight are all the historical re-enactments. There were fewer troupes than usual this year - Roman, Mediaeval, Jacobean, American Civil War, and Second World War. And fewer members to each troupe. Money is tight this year, probably for both the local council and the participants.

Even though the re-enactments and living history camps are my favourite, I posted a fairground picture!

It's rare to see a swing ride as big as this one in recent years. My youngest is on the photo somewhere. She adored it.
