Pygmy Hippo

ed Another shot of the pygmy hippo as I returned to the zoo today. It was like Sarah and I had never gone. We had expected more babies, but there were none and all the students who had hoped to have finished their projects by now were all still there. They do say never work with animals...!
Sarah had to leave early which meant I had all the work to do! I was allowed to go in the experiment cubicles and help a research fellow with his study on altruistic behaviours in a task called Shelfish where the monkeys have the option to pick a shelf which will provide them with a treat as well as a monkey in another cubicle, or just take the good treats for himself. There are certainly some interesting results. Its good to be back :)
