By offbalance

Saturday evening as hurricane Irene blew through we heard a very loud crack. Turns out a tree fell on the house two doors down. The house is one of the oldest in town. The original part was built in the 1840s and additions were added in the 1870s and 1940s when electricity was added. Fortunately, the occupants got out safely. Unfortunately, this lovely home was condemned by the building inspector, who said it wasn't a matter if the house was going to collapse, but when. Hopefully the tree people can get the tree removed in a timely manner.
