In passing

Religious classes were in progress. Melodious hymns curled up against the rays of the setting sun. People were few and far between. And no one was in a hurry. My eyes lapped up the slowness of time. A rusted gate, stood shyly in the backdrop. Behind it were overgrown trees, unkempt and ignored. They seemed to block all entry. But we did manage to scrape our way through. And reached a corridor abandoned centuries ago. Where a solitary beam of light played with the shadows of the ages.

In the light, my friend knelt down. Capturing lost time in bits.
