Capitola Pier

Wide angle shot of the Capitola Pier from the road just above. Note the fog in the late afternoon. This is a common phenomena during the summer along this part of the coast. Unfortunately, this is also a tourist destination in the summer. Visiting tourists who have made reservations for motels months in advance and packed up the kids for a couple of weeks of sun on the California coast will pay the local vendors a premium for a hooded sweatshirt...

This was shot using a Nikon D3 with the 15mm f3.5 lens I bought in Portland last week.

It's still a beautiful spot in the world. Better LARGE!
